All the packing of your household furniture and personal effects is completed at your residence using international packing and wrapping techniques. All fragile items such as fine china & glassware are specially wrapped and supported further with our tube packing technique. Your art work is specially packed into art/picture packs while lounge suites and mattresses have special plastic covers to protect them during international transit.

Hooker pacific door to door service with full international wrapping, packing and transit insurance. Our customized relocation services are designed to minimize the pressure and stress of moving to Australia.
When moving to Australia all of your furniture and personal effects are subject to a physical examination by DAFF (Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry-http://www.agriculture.gov.au ). This examination is conducted at DAFF Approved premises and can take up to 14 Working Days after arriving in Australia. Goods cannot be delivered until DAFF have provided authority.
Items of interest to DAFF are any items that have come into contact with soil, vegetation (gardening equipment, sports gear, camping equipment, cleaning equipment). These items need to be cleaned thoroughly before export, however they can still be subject to fumigation or steam cleaning on arrival into Australia. Festive decorations and or wreaths containing dried vegetable matter including pine cones will be subject to further treatment or destruction upon entry into Australia.
Please be aware that any new furniture and household goods are subject to customs duties and GST. You must declare them if you have not owned them for 12 months or they were not used by the importer for 12 Months. Australian Customs may ask for receipts and or other evidence of purchase price for these items.
